Amazon starts selling in Brazil with physical supply of Kindle site - Administrators

After just over a year selling digital books only in Brazil, Amazon will make its first foray into physical retail beginning this Friday, when it will offer the Kindle electronic device on their website.

With the onslaught, the U.S. company takes another tentative step in online sales in the country, market whose annual turnover is estimated at 28 billion dollars by the E-bit.

At the same time, the company delegate to third parties the task of orchestrating the delivery process, considered one of the biggest bottlenecks in the sector, contrary to what is in the United States, which owns huge distribution centers.

“We listen through the publishers that the digital book market in Brazil is already something in the house 3 percent of the total,” said Szapiro. “It is an interesting number, I would say extraordinary, for a market segment that did not exist a year ago.”
