Since the Kindle arrived in Brazil in December 2012, the sale was made only through stores such as Ponto Frio and the Village Bookstore. No more: the morning of Friday (7), Amazon began selling three models of the ebooks reader on your own website, shipping the product directly to the consumer. This also marks the start of the sale of physical products in the Brazilian Amazon, which until then only distributing ebooks and apps.

The prices are the same as practiced by the other online stores: the simpler Kindle costs $ 299 new Kindle Paperwhite sells for R $ 479 and Kindle Paperwhite Grandfather with free 3G goes for $ 699. Amazon also started selling accessories with plug adapter for AU $ 79 (ouch!) and leather case for the Kindle Paperwhite for R $ 169.

Just as the U.S. store, if you buy Kindle directly in the Brazilian Amazon, the device will come pre-registered with the user account. So as soon as you turn on the Kindle for the first time will have access to previously purchased content and can purchase new books immediately. In the U.S., Amazon makes it not only the readers but also with the Kindle Fire tablet.

With the start of sales of the Kindle, the Brazilian Amazon has also gained the typical features of virtual stores, like the ability to add a product to a wish list, which can be public or private. It also gives in to post a product like this:.’s Kindle in the case, if the option is checked, the device will come in a box without the mark of the Amazon without a pre-registered account

Like almost every large company, Amazon does not comment on future plans and did not say when (or if) you want to sell other physical products in the country. But you can say that preparing the Brazilian site and partnering with other logistics companies to store and ship the Kindle to all of Brazil is a good first step.
