I’ve been reading books on mobile devices since 1997 When my first daughter was born and I learned que i could hold the Palm Pilot and her At The Same Time. It was good to have an illuminated screen so She Could sleep in my arms in the dark while I tapped my way through the novel.
Since then I’ve owned lots of different e-readers: Sony Librie (2004), Kindle (2007), iPhone (2007), iPad (2010), Kindle Fire (2011), and Nexus 7 (2012). They all have pros and cons Their Own, but none of the Them comes close to the perfection the Kindle Paperwhite, Which I bought in 2013.
Paperwhite is better than a tablet because there’s no screen glare – an iPhone, iPad, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire is useless or outdoors on a sunny day. The Paperwhite (it’s on the right in the above photo) is better than my original Kindle (on the left in the photo) because the display is illuminated, so I can read it in bed with the lights out while my wife sleeps. The Paperwhite Also has much better battery life than any of my other e-readers, even the original Kindle, Which requires recharging every couple of days. The size and weight of the Paperwhite allow for comfortable one-handed reading. (The iPad requires propping on a pillow for reading in bed.)
I prefer reading on my Kindle over print books because I can look up definitions, translate foreign phrases into Inglês, order new books for instant delivery, and read Wikipedia entries without leaving the page I’m on. The “X-Ray” feature tells me about the fictional characters in the book, Which frequently comes in handy when i forget who someone is. The Kindle Also predicts how much longer it will take for me to finish reading a book or chapter.
I’m sure the better e-reader will come along one day, but even if it did not I’d be happy with the Paperwhite for the rest of my days reading. – Mark Frauenfelder
We here at Business Insider have a theory about Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
The theory is
que people buy the Kindle Fire for other people, but would never buy it for themselves. That’s why we call the Fire the “fruitcake” of tablets. You would not buy a fruitcake for yourself, but for others you’ll get at the holidays.
We saw this anecdotally in the first year of the Kindle Fire’s existence.
It was (and remains) a super cheap tablet, so it’s not too expensive to give one as a gift. You can buy the Kindle Fire HD for just $ 139. At que price you do not have to spend a lot of money to seem like a thoughtful, generous person.
But, if you were in the market for a tablet for yourself, odds are you’d go with an iPad because it has better applications, and a more robust ecosystem.
The Fire is a good tablet, and it’s Improving all the time, it’s just not as good at the iPad right now.
Today we have more proof que the Kindle Fire is the fruitcake of tablets -. que hot holiday item might not be so hot the rest of the year
Flurry, mobile application analytics Which measures, says the Kindle Fire Activations were up 24X on Christmas day versus normal December day. (This is actually down Compared to years past.)
What does this mean? It means que a lot of people are activating the Fires They got a Christmas present. It Also Suggests That the rest of the month, When people are shopping for Themselves, They Do not buy Fires.
This is not exactly the end of the world, but it Suggests Amazon needs to get the Kindle Fire to be good enough que everyone wants to buy it at any time of the year.
Business Insider
P. S.
Amazon gets pummeled in the press for putting out press releases with Them que vague in numbers do not really tell the full story. What’s funny about this release is Flurry que an outside company is doing it for Amazon! This chart does not really mean much. What if people on an average day 1 activate Kindle Fire? Then on Christmas day, 24 Fires were activated.

Another novelty is the interior lighting for reading in dim or no light. She is great and, contrary to what many people may think, does not tire. This is because, generally speaking, the technology of screen emits light into the device and not to the reader’s eye. The intensity can be controlled by the user and even under the sunlight, the screen is fully visible.
Kindle fulfills very well what is expected of an e-reader and no one against do you prefer a paper book to the e-reader. Switching between pages is instantaneous and there are several options for formatting text and reading mode. The options to highlight certain part of the text, share an excerpt on social networks and get the meaning of a word to select it work very well and make even more cool usability. There are also parental controls, to allow or disallow access to the browser, the Kindle store or the cloud and the option to add a lock code. 3G connection, which allows free access to the network, is an interesting feature. Even without wi-fi you can synchronize your library or buy new titles. Storage and battery are also sufficient. On Kindle Paperwhite you can save more than 1,000 books in 1.25 GB which are free to the user. Amazon also offers the Cloud to save their titles. And the battery lasts enough for you to forget that he is an electronic time. The consumption is very low and the range is up to eight weeks with moderate use, without the use of wireless resources. On the homepage it shows the books you’ve recently opened and as you have read, besides suggesting other works. At the top is the menu with the back of the home, lighting, Kindle store, search and configuration options buttons. It’s all pretty intuitive. Through the e-reader is still able to surf the internet. But it is a recommended activity only to break a twig. Picture settings do not allow the experience to be enjoyable because every movement she “printa” a new image on the screen (this is the feature that allows you to save battery) and the transition from a “printagem” for other troubles.
The Paperwhite Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi is the best e-reader available today. He shows no slowdowns or crashes and Amazon has a very extensive library of e-books. Some even are free to download. The increase in internal lighting has added value to the e-reader and even then, his vision has not tired to read for hours. The touchscreen is also another welcome news, since we are in the era of touch.
This news, however, make the price to rise significantly. While the traditional Kindle – with buttons, no touch screen and no lighting – costs U.S. $ 299.00, the Paperwhite with Wi-Fi and 3G headed R $ 699.00 . It’s a hefty price. Now, if you do not issue the 3G connection, Amazon recently launched the new Kindle Paperwhite. It is only Wi-Fi but has processor and improved features. And it costs much less: AU $ 479.00
