Amazon announced a new series of Kindle Fire tablets HDX , which will include two devices, one of 8.9 and other 7 inch . The company did not skimp on the HDX screen because the display of HDX 8.9 has 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and 339 ppi, while the HDX 7 has 1,920 x 1,200 and 323 ppi. The pixel density is greater than both the Retinal Display iPad 3 which is 264 ppi.
Both devices come with the quad-core Snapdragon 800 2.2 Ghz, 2GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB memory. Amazon promises 11 hours of battery for normal use, and 17 hours if you switch the mode. Both have only one port of entry or exit, which is the micro-USB, and HD front camera. Already HDX 8.9 has a rear camera that shoots in 1080p resolution and an LED flash. The company has not confirmed which version of Android use the tablet.
Another addition is an icon called “Mayday “, which automatically calls an expert tech support from Amazon, which, according to the company, will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – or 366, if it is a leap year. The expert appears on the screen of the tablet itself, which, according to president of Amazon, Jeff Bezos , to make more efficient technical support than if it were done by telephone. As for prices: Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 will cost $ 379 in the 16GB version and will be released on November 7th. The 4G 16GB version will cost $ 479 and will arrive on December 10. But the Kindle Fire 7 HDX will cost $ 229 for the 16GB version and $ 329 in the 4G version with the same memory. Amazon did not disclose that the products reach the Brazil . Via Engadget.
