surprise, Amazon has doubled the internal storage of the Kindle Paperwhite for new buyers. The ebook reader before with 2GB of storage space for books, now comes with 4 GB factory. The change was noted in July by a German blog on American Amazon store. The Tecnoblog found that the new capability also applies to much of the units for sale in Brazil.
The page on the old Kindle Paperwhite, which remains in the air in the Brazilian Amazon, reports that the product had 2 GB of flash memory, with 1.25 GB available to the user. At the top, you see a bar with a link pointing to the “latest version of Kindle Paperwhite”. As in the United States, the storage capacity has been omitted in the new product page.
The new version of Kindle Paperwhite comes with 4 GB of internal storage, 3.1 GB is available to the user, about 2.5 times the space of the previous model. According to Amazon, the space is enough to store more than 1,100 digital books. The price remains the same in Brazil:. 479 reais, or 399 dollars in the temporary promotion
The Paperwhite Kindle 4 GB is being sold by the Brazilian Amazon online store since at least Thursday (14 ). To the promotion of Father’s Day on Sunday, the Amazon site still pointed to the old version of the page. Ponto Frio, another store selling ebooks reader, Kindle Paperwhite still appears to have 2 GB of memory. Amazon confirms the Tecnoblog that “some stores” already have the new model.
The additional space, for now, is only for the Kindle Paperwhite cheaper, with Wi-Fi . In Brazil, the model with free 3G, which costs 699 dollars, still being sold with 2 GB of internal storage. In the United States, the capacity has been doubled. In Japan, it received a special edition of Kindle Paperwhite, the reader of ebooks already had 4 GB of both variants.
