Amazon launches three new tablets and Kindle Fire 2 e-readers – EXAME.com

Sao Paulo – Amazon launched on Thursday, their line 2014 tablets e-readers Kindle . Three new models of the Kindle Fire tablet, one of them directed at children. Among e-readers, there is a basic Kindle with touch screen and the new Kindle Voyage, which happens to be the most advanced device of this series.

In addition to being thinner and lighter than its predecessors, the Kindle Voyage brings more refined finish with chassis made of a magnesium alloy instead of plastic. Amazon says it has a new screen resolution, contrast and higher brightness. The screen is covered by glass reinforced antirreflexos treatment.

Another innovation of the Kindle Voyage is a pair of buttons on the side to turn the page of the book being read (it also allows turning the page by touching the screen). It will cost $ 199 in the United States, where new e-readers go on sale in October.

We do not know when Amazon will release these e-readers in Brazil. EXAME.com found that, so far, they have not been approved by the FCC. This suggests that the launch in Brazil should not happen in the next two months.

But it is likely to happen at some point. The company already sells, here, the current basic Kindle (no touch screen), which will be replaced by the new. Also offers the Kindle Paperwhite, which will continue to sell as intermediate option between basic Kindle and the Voyage.

  Kindle Fire

The Amazon Kindle Fire has renewed its range with three new tablets, which replace the previous, announced last year. The Kindle Fire HD is the new basic tablet that will be priced starting at $ 99 in the United States. Will be offered with 6 and 7 inch screen options.

The company will now have a variant of this tablet aimed at children, the Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition, also in sizes 6 and 7 inches. It comes with a rubber hood to cushion shocks, and a one-year subscription from Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, a service that provides access to apps, music and movies for children.

There is also a new edition of the Kindle Fire HDX, the most advanced tablet from Amazon with 8.9-inch screen. According to the company, it brings faster and better speakers than its predecessor processor. Amazon also introduced a keyboard for this tablet.

The Kindle Fire tablets are not for now sold in Brazil. And not worth buying them in other countries, despite the low price. They are tied to Amazon services. And some of those services are not available in Brazil.
