Amazon fired a communiqué stating that began pre-sale of the tablet Kindle Fire HD models with screen sizes of 7 and 8.9 inches in over 170 countries. The company also announced the arrival of the Amazon Appstore in nearly 200 markets. In a statement, Amazon revealed that its app store for Android “coming to Brazil in the coming months.”
Both models of the Kindle Fire HD are available on Amazon’s international store that sends products to many countries of the world, provided you pay the shipping and import taxes upon purchase. However, while selecting Brazil, the store tells you that the product can not be shipped to our country. This restriction does not occur in other Latin American countries such as Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Kindle Fire 7 inch HD costs $ 214 (16GB) or U.S. $ 244 (32GB), while the model with 8.9-inch screen and a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels is sold for $ 284 (16 GB) or $ 314 (32GB). They begin to be sent out on June 13. The Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G connection and 64 GB of internal storage is not yet being sold internationally.
Although not sell the Kindle Fire tablets for the Brazilians, Amazon keeps sending e-readers Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Paperwhite Kindle 3G directly to Brazil. However, it no longer makes sense since Ponto Frio, Vila Bookstore and kiosks Kindle officially started selling the devices in Brazil.
As Amazon charges all fees at the time of purchase, the product early on is more expensive than the model sold in the domestic market. The Paperwhite Kindle without 3G, which the Ponto Frio costs $ 479, is available for $ 139 on Amazon’s international store. With the conversion of the dollar, the freight for the city of São Paulo (R $ 47.76) and import taxes (R $ 332.68), the imported model comes out for savory R $ 682.44.
Amazon Appstore, which offers a free paid app per day, should arrive in Brazil in the coming months, which indicates that the Kindle Fire should also be posted here soon.
Amazon Appstore application can be used on any Android device: just visit www.amazon.com / getappstore on your smartphone or tablet, download the *. apk and install it. If you did not enable the installation of apps from “unknown sources”, you need to enter the security settings and check the option.
