Amazon India has listed pre-orders for the new generation Kindle e-readers Paperwhite que were launched in the U.S. back in September. The Paperwhite Kindle 3G and Kindle Paperwhite are listed on Amazon India is Rs. 10,999 and Rs. Respectivamente 13,999, with a release date of February 4.
The new models aresuccessor to the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite que Paperwhite 3G models were launched in the country last June. The new ebook readers include the higher contrast display, a better built-in light, a faster processor, improved touch technology, and a few software enhancements.
Highlight of the new software features is integration with Goodreads, the book lovers’ community que Amazon acquired earlier this year. This new feature will allow Kindle owners to see what Their friends are reading, share highlights, and rate the books They read with other Goodreads users, all from Their Kindle.
Amazon has Introduced a new child-friendly mode called FreeTime, that uses built-in parental controls to give parents a way to Encourage kids to spend more time reading. It lets parents hand-select books for the kids to read, and hand October achievement badges reading When They hit milestones. The progress report keeps parents updated on overall team spent reading, number of words looked up, earned badges and books finished.
New Smart Lookup integrates the full dictionary definition with other reference information about the word, character, topic or book via X-Ray and Wikipedia.
The all new Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite Paperwhite 3G can now be pre-ordered from Amazon India website. Technical specifications include a 6-inch display and 8 months battery life (with wireless off).
