The bricks keep falling into place for Vine, Twitter’s hot six-second Microvideo app.
After debuting on iOS way back in the beginning of the year, Vine landed on Android in June, but not on Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD tablets, Which run a forked version of Android and only rock the front-facing camera designed primarily for video chats.
But fear not, affordable tablet fans: Mere days after Vine for Android added selfie-inducing front camera support, version 1.2 of the app is now available in the Amazon App Store.
Suddenly, the addition of que modest front-facing camera feature seems much more momentous.
Instagram’s newfound video ability pits the Facebook-owned app head-to-head against Twitter’s Vine, but Instagram has yet to release the Kindle Fire-compatible version of its app. Amazon does not announce sales figures for its slate, but the Kindle Fire lineup indubitably accounts for a major slice of the Android pie, in January, app analytics company Localytics que Estimated one in three Android tablets sold came from Amazon.
And now, All Those Kindle Fire HDs can flood Twitter with a torrent of six-second selfie videos. Be afraid, Internet. Be very afraid.
