If you have a version of the e-reader Kindle previous to 2013, it is good to see if your device is with the latest update. This is because Amazon has warned that the old devices that are not updated up to this Tuesday (22) will lose their online features, such as access to the Kindle store and to the collection of books in the cloud.
The models that need to connect to the internet until this Tuesday are: Kindle 1st generation (2007), Kindle 2nd generation (2009), Kindle DX 2nd generation (2009), Kindle Keyboard 3rd generation (2010), Kindle 4th generation (2011), Kindle 5th generation (2012), Kindle Touch 4th generation (2011) and Kindle Paperwhite 5th generation (2012).
The Amazon notifies you that the update is required for the units of these models that do not connect to the internet since 5 October 2015. It is worth remembering that the standard configuration of the e-readers of the company is to receive updates automatically, in the background, with the Kindle in standby mode.
according to Amazon, if the download is not done up to this Tuesday, users will receive an error message saying that the Kindle is not able to connect at this time.
But it is not as if everything was lost. If you miss the deadline, you can re-enable the online features of your previous Kindle by downloading the update through the computer, and connecting your reader to the machine via USB cable.
