old Kindle will lose online features without upgrading to Tuesday (22) – Globo.com

If you have a version of the electronic reader Kindle previous to 2013, good to see if your device is running the latest update. That’s because Amazon warned that older devices that are not updated until this Tuesday (22) lose their online features, such as access to the Kindle store and the collection of books in the cloud.

Amazon warns that the update is required for the units of these models that do not connect to the internet since October 5, 2015. Note that the default setting of electronic readers the company is to receive updates automatically, in the background, with the Kindle in standby mode.
