Bibliophilia and Kindle – The Hindu

Updated: November 16, 2015 00:35 IST

For those who are passionate about reading, the physical book has no substitute. The very possession of the book is a source of joy. In fact, some readers have a sentimental attachment to Their collections. Books in any other technological form can never give the reader the joy of reading (“Those Kindle-y ones,” Nov.15). The only difficulty in collecting books is the constraint storage. That being the case, it is unfortunate que some books are available only to e-books. It may be easy to carry Thousands of books on the Kindle. So, if the Kindle is lost, all that is stored in it is lost Also. Also one can not dispute the damage such devices wreak on the eyesight of the readers. One may not have qualms about innovations and modernity Which are so very essential for our daily life, but the fact remains que paper books occupy the pride of place.
